What I am wearing
As usual, I have put the links to my outfit in this post. If you like what I am wearing just click on either the picture widget below or on the links and it will take you straight to the store I got it from.
Richard Wiseman, the author of a book titled Luck Factor conducted an experiment with two groups of people. The groups consisted of some that defined themselves as generally lucky or having the luck factor and the other group of unlucky people or those lacking the luck factor. It is amazing how having the wrong mindset can actually steer our life trajectory negatively see this post here where I talk a bit more on that. One of the exercises that they did was to look through the newspaper and count how many pictures were in the paper. Within a few seconds, the lucky people had finished counting the number of images but some of the unlucky ones spent up to two minutes trying to count the images.
It turns out there was a whole page in the newspaper that said: “stop counting the number of images in this paper is 43.” The unlucky ones were so focused on the task and had honed in their vision on completing the task that they missed “the opportunity.” They did not have their eyes peeled for a solution to their “problem” that didn’t look like what they had envisioned.
I read from a book called The Millionaire Dropout: Fire Your Boss. Do What You Love. Reclaim Your Life!, is book there is a quote that said: “if you work 14 hours a day, it’s amazing how lucky you will become.” From this I learned that we make our own luck in this world, of course, some come from a place of privilege but success comes to those who have their eyes peeled for the opportunity, who are open to growth, a different point of view and new ways of doing things. And if you just dare to put in extra effort in whatever you set your mind on, sure there will be resistance but if you hang in there, oh it’s amazing how lucky you will be.
